Get started with the WPPulso plugin
Follow these steps to install WPPulso, run a manual scan and review site health. This guide covers the downloadable plugin and licence activation.
Requirements: WordPress 6.0 or later and PHP 7.4 or later. Back up your site before making security, update or restore changes.
2. Open WPPulso
Use the WPPulso item in the WordPress admin menu. Review the dashboard summary for the latest risk score, backup age, pending updates and security status.
3. Run a manual scan
Open the WPPulso dashboard and choose Run Scan. The plugin checks common WordPress health signals, including core and extension updates, PHP, SSL, cron, backup status and selected security settings. Review the findings before changing your site.
4. Review backups and reports
Open Backup to review backup history and available database backup actions. Store a copy away from the website and confirm that your recovery process works. Use Reports to view or export the information available in your installed version.
5. Activate a licence
Open the WPPulso licence screen and enter the product-specific key issued by official license manager. Activation, validation, deactivation and protected updates are authorised by the official licensing API.
6. Handle a suspicious file carefully
Review file-monitor findings before acting. The launch build treats suspicious files as review-only findings; keep a separate backup, record the path and escalate critical files before manual cleanup.
Troubleshooting
Common setup questions
The plugin ZIP will not install. What should I check?
Confirm the downloaded file is the ZIP itself, that your hosting account permits plugin uploads, and that the site meets the WordPress and PHP requirements above. Ask your host or developer to review upload limits if installation still fails.
Licence activation fails. What should I check?
Confirm the site can make outbound HTTPS requests and that the key is copied exactly. Also confirm the official licence API is reachable.
Does the website scan form inspect my site?
No. It creates a checklist in your browser. Run Manual Scan from the WPPulso plugin inside WordPress for actual plugin findings.
Are uptime alerts and hosted multi-site dashboards available?
They are Pro/Agency account services layered on top of the plugin.
Where can I report a critical security or billing issue?
Use the support portal. Critical and billing categories create ticket references for tracking.
Safety checklist

Keep a backup outside the same WordPress install or hosting account when possible.
Save the scan result, affected file, plugin/theme name and the time it appeared.
